Deciding On A Jacket

There should be a choice of jackets in any well-equipped
closet. Jackets can be worn at any time in any place -
formal or casual, from the blazer to the leather jacket.
If your wardrobe is ample then it will disgorge the right
jacket for any situation you care to name. You can look
absolutely fantastic if you get it right, but you can get
it wrong if you make one of the classic mistakes. In this
article I'll examine some of those potential mistakes so we
do not make them.
Whilst there are jackets for every occasion, we should bear
in mind that many people only possess one, and that is
gathering dust and being eaten by moths at the back of the
cupboard. It is almost never worn. But this is because
this jacket is not the RIGHT jacket! This particular
jacket is never worn because it is for special occasions
only - occasionally the dust and fluff is removed or it is
sent to be cleaned, when the owner needs to go to a baptism
or a wedding. Men who say they are not the type to wear
jackets, who feel they will look too conservative, probably
have one of these jackets. It is not surprisingly they
will not be wearing at the weekend to go for a drink;
people would think they were the waiter.
If you get the jacket right then you will come over as a
man with style who is laid back and confident. As a bonus,
you will find that a properly chosen jacket makes you look
more svelte or more muscular than you really are! You must
take care when deciding on a color. Some colors look
better than others on any given person, so get this right.
Also try to make the color of your jacket complement the
trousers - do not generally match the colors exactly since
this looks formal or perhaps daft, like you do not know
what you are doing. Though a little dull, the classic
browns and close shades look very good. Be bold about
searching for new colors. It might be a good move to seek
the advice of a trusted and honest friend. Do not be
ashamed to check out what the other guys are wearing in
magazines - even if you are not a movie star there is no
reason you cannot dress like one.
When it comes to jacket choice for females there are some
differences in how to pick the right jacket, but when the
look comes right it is just as smart and relaxed as the
male jacket. Women's jackets vary from men's in that the
length varies a lot and is a key factor in getting the
jacket right. A woman's natural shape and height is the
key to getting the jacket choice spot on.
These are some of the key considerations: a woman who is
shorter than average should choose a cut that ends at the
waist since longer jackets will make a short person appear
shorter still. A woman with natural curves want to find
jackets that extend beyond her hips - anything that halts
at the hipline or waistline will make these parts appear
larger than they are. Taller women look great in jackets
that are long too.
Given that most people can find a good jacket and that
jackets are so handy for all the different occasions in our
lives, is is surprising that we don't have more.
